Internships for students are perfect opportunities to learn new things. There are so many fields among which one can choose. While the former have their geek mode on, going for internships in IT, HR, Marketing, Designing and so on the latter chooses Photography, Modelling, Cookery, DJ-ing and much more.
Here are experiences of some students from Pune who chose offbeat options for their internship.
Into the Woods–
This summer, Abhi Kukreja is learning nuances of Wildlife Photography from a seasoned photographer. His job is to travel to various jungles and get knowledge of professional wildlife photography.
People think that this field is all about clicking pictures, but a wildlife photographer learns many things on the field, patience being one of the most important ones. The experience itself is very rewarding.
From Engineering to Modelling–
Priyanka Sarkar is an engineering student passionate about modelling. This summer she has applied at both software firm and modelling agency. She believes that one doesn’t have to give up a career to pursue their passion.
The art of DJ-ing
Deblina Shome was always passionate about DJ-ing. It took some time for her parents to convince that it is okay for a girl to be a DJ if she wants. After seeing her performances Deblina’s parents are happy. There’s a lot of stigmas attached to the profession and I really want to change the mindset and make a statement says the future famous DJ.
Filmmaking and all
Vikas always wanted to learn Filmmaking but couldn’t because of academic commitments. Now when he has got time from it, he will be going to Mumbai this summer and learn nuances of filmmaking. After the completion of his internship, he will make Documentaries and Film.
People consider music as a hobby and not a career. This perspective has to be changed.
Rohit Ahuja says I had a really hard time convincing my parents that I want to join a rock band. And now as part of my two-month training, I will be writing songs and performing in cafes and malls in Pune and Mumbai. It is a great opportunity for me.
