Engineering students are being offered two months long Digital India Internship through the government of India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeIT) . Students will also be paid a stipend of 10,000 INR per month. The internship is part of Digital India initiatives.
The ministry said, in a statement, that the internship is an opportunity for students to get practical world experience under the guidance of a qualified and experienced mentor. Students of graduation and post graduation can apply for this program and must have scored 60% marks in the last held exam. The students must be in their third or fourth year of graduation or fourth or fifth year in the pattern 10+2+5.
There are a total of 25 places of the internship. The broad areas of internship are Research and Development (R&D), cyber laws & cyber security, eGovernance, HRD, international cooperation and industrial promotion, hardware industry, electronic testing.
The candidate must ensure that the application is sponsored by the institution where the student is studying.
The stipend will be paid to the students after the completion of internship on submission of report duly accepted by the ministry.
The ministry of electronics and information technology will issue a certificate to the interns on the completion of internship and submission of the report.
